Its palaces, Saadian tombs, it’s high wall filled with great portals are witnesses to the great role these people played in the history of mankind. Marrakech is also the facet of Arabia which is often described in novels where you find large public markets and squares animated by colourful street vendors, snake charmers, story tellers and jugglers… Boarding includes lunch. **NOTE : we highly recommend that you have supper at Jema El Fna square.

Day 3 | MARRAKECH / CITY TOUR BY FOOT (LOCAL TOURIST GUIDE) (B)
Visit of the main imperial city. Gaze at the Saadian tombs, the Menara, the Marrakech gardens and the Bahia palace. Boarding only.

Day 4 |MARRAKECH / OUARZAZATE (B, D)
We get to Ouarzazate by travelling through the impressive Tizi-n-Tichka pass, starting point of the oasis road and meeting place of cultures and craftsmanship. Stop over at Casbah d’Aït Ben Abdou Kasbah with it’s sandcastle that looks like it was magically built in a field a blooming almond trees. The Kasbah is listed in the UNESCO world-wide heritage. Overnight stay near the Kasbah.

Day 5 | OUARZAZATE  / VALLEY OF DADES / TINGHIR (B, D)
Continuation toward the valley of Dades, series of oasis with a thousand Kasbahs in the valley. Starting from  Boumalne, the desert mountain slopes eat away at the ribbon of greenery. But the wadi is stubborn and gets imbedded, cracking massive limestone chunks. The valley then tightens it’s breathtaking rock face. You are entering the gorges of Dadès. Discover its beautiful oasis, mountains, poplars and rose gardens, Skoura, El-Kelaâ M’Gouna, Boumalne of Dadès and then the gorges of Dadès. In the afternoon, we leave for Tinghir and its famous palm grove which counts close to a million palm trees. Discover the Kasbahs, the cultures and their natives. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 6 | TINGHIR / ERFOUD (B, D)
About 15 kilometres away from the village of Tinghir, at the end of a valley sprinkled with palm groves and Berber villages, the gorges of Todra are among the most beautiful natural sites of this country. This massive crevice from which runs a crystal clear river divides the High Atlas from the Djebel Sarhro and rises up to 300 m at its narrowest spot. We get on our way to the inn. Your driver will show his orientation capabilities while driving at night in the desert. Welcoming committee, meal and sleep over at the inn.

Day 7 | CAMEL RIDE / bivouac IN THE dEsert OF erg chebbi (B, D)
In the morning after a breakfast along the dunes of the Sahara, you are invited to visit the luxurious oasis of Merzouga. Tour of the village and a stop over at local merchants to purchase some souvenirs.

Back to the inn, we relax while having lunch and our team gets busy preparing the mid-afternoon excursion. Just like the nomads, our caravan of dromedaries zigzag amongst the dunes as we get to our camp site.

Gaze at sunset perched on the dunes, savour a delicious mint tea prepared the Berber way and let your taste buds discover a typical tagine meal. You will also be carried away by Berber chants while contemplating the glow of the campfire. Unforgettable night in a bivouac with basic comfort.

Day 8 | SAHARIAN INN (B, D)
After breakfast, we gently make our way back to the inn riding the dromedaries. Free day to enjoy the Sahara and get rested. Possible optional visit and have lunch with a nomad family. Note : That day may also be substituted for a desert excursion.

Day 9 | ERG CHEBBI / BIVOUAC IN THE DESERT OF OUZINA (B, D)

Day 10 | OUZINA / ZAGORA / SAHARIAN RAID ON THE PATHS OF PARIS-DAKAR (B, D)
Lengthy crossing of the immense desert. Departure through the Tafilalet djebel en route for the stone desert.  Arrival at Alnif, breakfast and hitting the road again toward the mineral packed massif of Boughafer. We arrive at our destination, the oasis of Zagora which happens to be the hottest city of Morocco. (leisure visit of the city + access to the dunes on a ATV). This is the area where the Saad people conquered the Souss, and then all of Morocco. They kept advancing right up to Timbukto. Transfert to the hotel. Shared boarding.

Day 11 | ZAGORA / AGDZ / OUARZAZATE (B, D)
Departure on a 4x4 for the valley of Drâa. Nested in the High-Atlas, this superb valley digs its way toward Agdz. It renders onto a spectacular view of oasis on a 200 km stretch. A wink to the desert, Mother Nature knits her colours. Clusters of yellow dates hanging from palm trees, laurel bushes filled with shiny pink flowers, ground, beige and grey coloured mountains nestled into a reddish earth, and far away, just like a mirage, numerous Ksour with colours copied on sand. These sights will linger in your mind as we head for Ouarzazate. Transfer and settling in at the hotel will feel like a gentle breeze.
