Day 1: LIMA RECEPTION
Reception at Jorge Chavez airport, flight ? to ? and transfer to Faraona *** located in the Miraflores district. Free for lunch
Day 2: LIMA – PUERTO MALDONADO (AIRPLANE) (B, L, D)
Transfer to the airport for a flight to Puerto Maldonado: « the gate of the Amazonian forest » Reception at the airport for your arrival in Puerto Maldonado. Short visit of the town and its market. Departure to the port by bus to board on a motor boat. We will go down « Rio Madre de Dios » for about 45 minutes during which we will be able to observe many caimans, exotic flowers…. Transfer to the Corto Maltes Lodge *** Installation and explanations on the nature, customs … Lunch at the Lodge. After lunch, short walk with an English-speaking local guide. Two hour tour in the « Selva » (the jungle) to observe the exuberant flora and fauna that is characteristic of this area. Return to the lodge and typical dinner.

Day 3: PUERTO MALDONADO (B, L, D)
Western style breakfast. Departure on a motor boat on the Rio Madre de Dios. Short walk in the selva (about 1h30) until we get to the beautiful Sandoval Lake, which has extraordinary scenery with its tranquil turquoise water, surrounded by palm trees and other hundred-year old trees. Ride on the lake in a rowboat. Walk back to the Rio Madre de Dios to board on the boat. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, we will go to a local farm where we will observe the different Amazonian cultures and then we will continue by boat until we reach the Rolín et Monos islands where we will see up to 6 monkey species. Return to the lodge and typical dinner.
Day 4: PUERTO MALDONADO (B, L, D)
Western style breakfast. Departure on a motor boat to go to the beautiful and still virgin Gamitana island. We will contemplate the birds, monkeys, lizards and even turtle eggs during the reproduction season (between March and November). On this island, we will also be able to observe the laborious and ancestral work of the gold finders. Most of the Peruvian gold is in the loops of the Rio Madre de Dios. Return to lodge and lunch. Rest and then departure on a motor boat to the famous Fitzcarrald boat that was stranded several years ago and is now covered with vegetation. Return to the lodge and typical dinner.
Day 5: PUERTO MALDONADO – CUSCO (AIRPLANE) 4 RUINAS (3399 m d’alt.) (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a return flight to Cuzco. Reception at the airport and transfer to Hotel. In Quechua, Cusco means « navel of the world » because this town was the capital of the Inca Empire and was the departing point of the four regions of the World according to the cosmic vision that the Inkas had. Cusco is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cities of the Peruvian Sierra.
Rest to get acclimatized to the altitude. Free time for lunch.Departure at 2.00 p.m. from the hotel. The afternoon will be dedicated to the visit of the archeological sites located on top of Cusco’s surrounding hills. Tambomachay Q'enko - Pukapucara - Sacsayhuaman. Transfer to Hotel at the end of the afternoon.
Free time for meals.

Day 6: CUSCO CITY TOUR 1 DAY (Alt.3399 m) (B)
Departure at 09.00 a.m. from the hotel. In the afternoon we will visit Cusco and its surroundings. We will begin our tour with a visit of the San Pedro Market. Then we will visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun); main religious building the Inkas built dedicated to the cult of the sun. We will continue our tour visiting the Cathedral. Its construction began in 1560 and ended in 1669. This church has many paintings from the Cusuqenian School, and a large collection of jewelry, silver and precious stones. Then we will head off to the heights of Cusco to visit San Blas district. Transfer to Hotel at the end of the afternoon.
Free time for meals.
Day 7: CUSCO – PISAC – OLLANTAYTAMBO (PRIVATE) (B, L)
9.00 a.m. Departure to the Sacred Valley in a private vehicle. After a 1-hour trip, we will be arriving at the Pisac ruins, which was once one of the most important fortresses of the Inca Empire mainly built to stock the Empire’s food supplies. Guided tour of the Inca site. We will walk back down to Pisac, the colonial village and walk around the Indian market (Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). Lunch in a restaurant to taste a typical buffet. In the beginning of the afternoon, we will continue our tour to see Ollantaytambo, which is an Inca village, and we will visit the fortress, which was a military, religious and agricultural strategic center. At the end of the day we will walk around this village’s streets. Transfer to Hotel. Free time for dinner.

Day 8: OLLANTAYTAMBO – CHILCA – WAYLLABAMBA (3000 M) (B, L, D)
On Day 1, we will have breakfast and then take a private bus to Urubamba. This city is located only one hour away from the city of Cusco. From Urubamba, we will go to Chilca to start our trek on the Inca Trail. Along the way, we will break for lunch. After a 3-hour trek, we will visit the Llactapata archeological site and on the first night we will make camp at the Duration: 3 hours
Day 9: WALLAYBAMBA (3000 M) WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYO (3000 M) (B, L, D)
On Day 2 we will have start out early in the morning with a hearty breakfast and then depart for the Warmiwañusca pass, which is located 4200 m.a.s.l. After lunch, we will continue our trek towards the Pacaymayo campsite where we will make camp for our second night together.
Altitude Change: +1200 meters / -700 meters
Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Day 10: PACAYMAYO (3500 M) – PUYATAMARCA (3580 M) –WIÑAYHUAYNA (2650 M) (B, L, D)
On Day 3 we will have an early breakfast and depart for the second highest pass on the trek (3580 m.a.s.l.). We will stop to visit the Runkurakay archeological site along the way and then also visit the Inca citadel of Sayamarca. The trek continues on to the Puyapatamarca ruins. After Lunch we will proceed with our trek, which will end with a visit to the Wiñaywayna complex, where we will have dinner and make camp for the night.
Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Day 11: WIÑAYWAYNA (2650 M) – MACHU PICCHU (2400 M) – CUSCO (B)
After breakfast, we will start our last day’s hike and arrive at the highlight of our adventure – the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. At Machu Picchu, from the Inti Punku (Sun Door) we will be able to take-in the incredible landscape. Here, we will spend about three hours visiting this world famous site with a guided tour of the ancient Inca citadel. After the guided tour there will be free time to wander about the ruins on your own. We will descend the from Machu Picchu to the town of Aguas Calientes, located deep within the Machu Picchu canyon, where we will have lunch and then travel to Cusco by train. You will be transferred from the Cusco train station to your hotel.

Day 12: CUZCO – BOLIVIA - LA PAZ (Tuesday or Saturday imperatively) (B)
07.30 a.m. Transfer to the Cusco airport for a flight to the Bolivian capital. After a 55 minute flight above the Altiplano and lake Titicaca we will land on the highest runway in the world at an altitude of 4200 m. Reception at the airport at 11.55 am (H Bolivia + 1) and transfer to Hotel.

Day 13: LA PAZ – UYUNI (B)
Transfer to the La Paz bus station for a trip in bus and train or integrality in bus. We will cross the Altiplano from north to south until reaching the village of Uyuni, very near to the Salt Flats (between 12 or 13 hours).
Appointment at the hotel one hour before the departure of the bus.
Day 14: UYUNI – SAN CRISTOBAL – ALOTA (B, L, D)
Expedition 4WD of 4 days from Uyuni to Uyuni – Vehicle 4WD Land Cruiser all equipped.
Departure from the hotel at 09:00 by jeep for a visit of “Trains cemetery”, just outside of the town. Cape to south, we will pass the new model village of Culpina K before arriving to San Cristobal for lunch (we’ll visit the colonial church if it is opened). Then we go on through Rio Grande, zone of vicuñas and ñandus (ostriches’ cousins), before reaching Alota at the end of the afternoon. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager in Alota (limited comfort).
Day 15: ALOTA - LAGUNA VERDE - LAGUNA COLORADA (B, L, D)
Departure from Alota, cape south, we pass the village of Villamar before arriving to Laguna Colorada. Then we will discover the geyser Sol de Mañana (4850 m.a.s.l.), a volcanic crater with gushes of vapors of sulfur and mineral waters. Later on, we skirt the Salted Lagoon before crossing Dali's desert (called as this because of the landscapes that remind us of one of the master’s paintings). During the afternoon, we will arrive to Laguna Verde (at the foot of Licancabur volcano - 5960 m.a.s.l.) in order to watch its color change. Return to Laguna Colorada by the end of the afternoon.
Cold lunch. All included. Night in a shelter (limited comfort).
Day 16: LAGUNA COLORADA – SAN PEDRO DE QUEMEZ (B, L, D)
We overcome direction to the north through the magnificent landscapes of the Siloli desert before reaching the so-called “Route of the Jewels”: lagoons Ramaditas, Honda, Ch’arkota, Hedionda and Cañapa, sanctuaries of 3 varieties of flamingos. Then, the road descends from 4200 to 3600 meters of altitude. We will pass at the foot of two important volcanos: Tomasamil (5900 m.a.s.l.) and Ollagüe (still active). Later on, we cross the Salt Flats of Chiguana before arriving to the village of San Pedro de Quemez. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager (limited comfort).
Day 17: SAN PEDRO DE QUEMEZ – SALT FLATS – UYUNI – ORURO (B, L)
From San Pedro de Quemez, 2 hours of travel will leave us to the Uyuni Salt Flats (3650 m.a.s.l.). We will pass by “the devil cave” before making a stop in the heart of the Salt Flats on Incahuasi Island. This place, covered by stones of volcanic origin, is also known as the Isla del Pescado (Fish Island). In the afternoon, we will cross the Salt Flats until the west end. Along the road, visit of the salt mines of Colchani and the salt hotels (they are closed since November 2001). Arrival to Uyuni by the end of the afternoon. Cold lunch (included). Dinner free (bar-restaurant La Loco recommended).
Day 18: ORURO – LA PAZ (B)
Asphalted road where we can observe some tornados by leaving Oruro. 3 hours until La Paz. Free Afternoon.
Jour 19: DEPARTURE INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT (B)
3 hours before landing Transfer to the airport and connection for the international return flight. Free time for meals
