Day 1 : LIMA RECEPTION // LIMA – CUSCO (AIRPLANE)
Reception at Jorge Chavez airport, flight ? to ?
Transfer to Faraona Hotel*** located in the Miraflores district. At the beginning afternoon, transfer to the Lima airport for a flight to Cusco.
Reception and transfer to Amaru Hotel**.
Free time for meals.
Day 2 : CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – CUSCO (PRIVATE)
09.00 am, departure to the sacred valley in a private vehicle. After a 1-hour trip, we will be arriving at the Pisac ruins, which was once one of the most important fortresses of the Inca Empire mainly built to stock the Empire’s food supplies. Guided tour of the Inca site and walk around the Indian market [Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays]. Lunch in a restaurant to taste a typical buffet. In the beginning of the afternoon, we will continue our tour to see Ollantaytambo, which is an Inca village, and we will visit the fortress, which was a military, religious and agricultural strategic center. At the end of the day, We will go back to Cusco. On the way, we will stop to visit a picturesque colonial village called Chinchero. Transfer to Amaru Hotel** at the end of the afternoon. Lunch included Free time for dinner.
Day 3 : WALKING TO THE RUINS OF UCHUY QOSQO
A day spent walking to the ruins of Uchuy Qosqo or « little Cusco. This site is impressive in part for it’s location and as it is rarely visited by tourists, unlike it’s big brother, Machupichu. Hotel Amaru ** . Box lunch included. Free dinner.

Day 4 : CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (TRAIN) POOL SERVICE
Hiram Bingham, an American anthropologist discovered Machu Picchu, in 1911. The archeologists estimate this citadel was built in the middle of the 15th century. Today several hypotheses have been ventured on the function this inaccessible citadel. Was it for military purposes? A kind of secret harem dedicated to the Inkas? A place to rest for the Inkas? It is still an enigma!
Departure early in the morning at 06.15, by train to reach Machu Picchu citadel. Arrival at Aguascalientes train station at about 10.15 am. Then we will take a bus to go to Machu Picchu. The day will be dedicated to visiting the site. Free for lunch. Return to Aguascalientes by bus and connection to catch the train to Cusco at 3.55 pm., arrival at 08.20 pm.
Transfer to Amaru Hotel** in Cusco. Free time for meals.
Suggestions : You can also reach Huayna Picchu peak. The hike up there is quite difficult. You will need good shoes; light backpacks and not to be afraid of heights. From the top, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Machu Picchu. You will need about 2 hours to go up and come back down.

Day 5: CUSCO - CACHORA – CHIQUISCA TREKKING
At sunrise, we will depart the city of Cusco by private bus and travel northwest, toward the snow-capped peaks of Salkantay (6264 m.a.s.l.) and Huamantay (5127 ma.s.l.). The road descends into an area with pleasant weather, and passes by the towns of Limatambó and Curahuasi. On the way there we will see masses of carved granite characteristic of the region. We will quickly make our way to the highest point of our trip, where we will find a small village at 3600 m.a.s.l. as well as the Saywite archeological site, which includes interesting carved stone. From this vantage point, we will take the fork that leads us to Cachora (2850 m.a.s.l.), which will be the departure point for our expedition. There, we meet up with our local team who will be waiting for us. On the way there, we will enjoy the splendid view of Pedrayoc (5771 m.a.s.l.). We will soon arrive at Capuliyoc Pass (2800 m.a.s.l.) and then descend in the direction of Chiquisca where we will make camp for the night (1930 m.a.s.l.).

Day 6: CHIQUISCA - SANTA ROSA – CHOQUEQUIRAU TREKKING
Early in the morning, after a good breakfast, we will descend to the warmest area of the region, passing by the towns of Santa Rosa and Maranpata (2850 m.a.s.l.). From here, there is an excellent lookout spot from where we can spy the citadel of Choquequirau. This amazing archaeological site is surrounded by mountains including the majestic Pedrayoc (5771 m.a.s.l.), Corihuayrachina (5404 m.a.s.l.),) and Ampay (5228 m.a.s.l.), all of which belong to the Vilcabamba mountain range. The surrounding countryside is rich in flora and fauna, and the uniqueness of the region is enhanced by the constant changes in climate. We will make camp for the night directly next to the Choquequirau ruins.

Day 7: CHOQUEQUIRAU - SAN IGNACIO – CARMEN TREKKING
Soon after sunrise we will leave to explore the ruins of Choquequirau. Then, we will follow a little used trail that offers an impressive panorama of the Apurimac Canyon, which is surrounded with lush tropical vegetation. We will make camp at Carmen for the night.

Day 8: CARMEN – TAMBO BAMBA HACIENDA - HUANIPACA TREKKING
Near the fruit orchards of Carmen is the Tambo Bamba Hacienda (3150 m.a.s.l.), which during colonial times was governed by landowners and high authorities and was home to a large number of slaves. Nowadays, the region is a rich agricultural area and is also used for raising cattle; the system of agricultural work still follows ancient ancestral traditions. We will continue on our way through different communities including Pacobamba, and then ultimately arrive at the final stop of our hike – Huanipaca (3150 m.a.s.l.), where we will make camp for the night.

Day 9: HUANIPACA - CUSCO TREKKING
After breakfast, we will take a private bus to the town of Cconoc, where we will spend the day resting and enjoying the natural hot springs – a well deserved rest after our great efforts of the preceding days. We will return to Cusco after lunch. Transfer to Amaru hotel **

Day 10 : CUSCO – PILCOPATA JUNGLE
As we move on from the Inca capital, Cusco, travelling along a winding road up through the Andes, we will visit on our way the Chullpas of Ninamarca, tombs from the Pre-Inca period, which belonged to the Lupacas people. From here we leave for the village of Paucartambo to descend towards the Puna region where rare species such as the Vizcacha reside, a cute rodent that looks like a rabbit. In Puna predators such as the Andean fox and the puma can also be found. As we reach 3.500 m altitude a blanket of cloud appears, hiding the dense forest that can be seen from below.
At Tres Cruces (three crosses) the slopes of the Andes are covered in clouds. We will soon arrive at the heart of the National Park of Manu, only 5 hours from the beautiful city of Cusco. We stop for breakfast in order to absorb this incredible scenery that the clouds and the jungle offer. Then we make a descent into the jungle where the where the treetops covered in mist favour the proliferation of moss and lichen. In this cloud forest we stop to look out for the national bird, the so called Gallito de las rocas (little cockerel of the rocks) (Rupicola Peruviana). We arrive at Pilcopata at the end of the afternoon where a delicious dinner awaits and spend the night in the hostel.
Day 11 PILCOPATA – ATALAYA – AMARU MAYU JUNGLE
After breakfast we go to the river port of Atalaya to take the boat to the Amaru Mayu encampment. During the journey the guide explains the different confluences of the river in each area. Once settled in, we will take stroll along one of the paths and return to the encampment for dinner and to spend the night.
Day 12: AMARU MAYU – LAGUNA MISTERIOSA - AMARU MAYU JUNGLE
We will penetrate the thick forest early in the morning for a a 4-hour walk thatwill take us to the Laguna Misteriosa (mysterious lagoon). During the walk we will be able to distinguish between 2 types of forest, primary and secondary. We will be able to examine different aspects of the Amazonian rainforest and visit the observation point. After a refreshing dip in the waterfalls we return to the camp for breakfast. The rest of the day is free (or for the more active group we can continue the walk to look of different kinds of mammals or even we can take a boat out into the surrounding areas). As the sun sets we will take a walk to surprise the nocturnal animals (monkeys, yellow mice, bamboo rats, insects etc.) We will soend the night at Amaru Mayu camp.
Day 13 : AMARU MAYU – ATALAYA - PILCOPATA JUNGLE
After breakfast we will leave the camp to catch a boat that takes us to the port of Atalaya. We will take advantage of this trip to observe the birds that live along the banks of this river. Once at Atalaya we will leave the boat to take a private car that will take us to Pilcopata. We will pass by the community of Santa Rosa de Huacaria that will charm you with its beauty and the warm welcome of its people: the Matsiguenka and the Huachipairis, to this little haven of paradise. Camp.
Day 14 : PILCOPATA – CUSCO JUNGLE
After breakfast we take the last jungle walk to Pilcopata. Leaving behind us the Cloud forest, the Bosque Nublado we climb to the Puna region where we take the bus to Cusco, the Inca Capital. Transfer to hotel Amaru **
Free time for dinner
Day 15 : CUSCO – LIMA (AIRPLANE)
Transfer to the Cusco airport for a flight to the Peruvian capital. Direct connexion to the international flight.
Free time for meals.
