Population & Culture
Throughout its long history, Thailand has integrated its many immigrants without problem. Its original culture has become enriched thanks to the arrival of new writers, painters, sculptors, dancers, musicians, and architects.
The current population is a reflection of this ethnic diversity: Thais, Mons, Khmers, Laotians, Chinese, Malaysian, Persian and Indian, mainly. It is therefore difficult to refer to one particular physical type.
Approximately 64% of the population still lives in the country. This has helped to maintain a rich traditional culture, especially in terms of holidays or religious ceremonies. |
